I`m sure your business already has some systems, probably most of which you are unaware of. Once we make those systems conscious and `official` we can then evaluate those systems to see how we can better augment them to be more effective. It will also help us understand the systems that are missing from the business that will further simplify it.

One of the greatest challenges most of us face when doing business, is that we make it up each day. This places a lot of stress on us. We need to identify, create, record and measure the appropriate systems to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of your business.

One caveat I want to express: This is not an easy process because it requires time. The conundrum of this process is that many don`t want to take the time to do it because they are so overwhelmed by everything else in their business, but this the very thing to help alleviate that feeling of overwhelm. Think of the systems of your business as one of your managers.

Also, the challenge of this process is carving out consistent time to work on it, because here is what will happen: You will avoid spending time creating the systems because you need to make money for your business. Then when you have business rolling in you don`t have time to work on your systems because you are too busy managing all the business you just brought in… and the cycle continues.

I tell you this to prepare you; so that when the excuses start to fly, you will be able to better identify the cycle that you are in rather then buying into your own excuses.

Finally, there are many layers to these systems. There are systems for evaluating the systems. There are even systems for managing the systems. It may sound complicated, but once you are fully enrolled in the systems idea around business and the necessary systems are created in your business, you will have a newfound freedom that you have never experienced before.
